Owls/stripes
I've been thinking a lot about blogging in the past few days and while I'm not sure that I can articulate my thoughts, you should read what Natalie of Definatalie has to say. Natalie is all kinds of wonderful and her writing is quite thought-provoking. While I'm not totally sure where I fit in the blogging world and how I feel about success with regards to blogging, it's definitely something that's been on my mind.
On a different note, today was a friend's casual 18th birthday celebration and this is what I wore.

Jeans - Penningtons size 20

Christmas
I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a wonderful holiday! For me, there's nothing better than spending time with my family, especially combined with sleeping in, heart-warming music, and sweets. Christmas is always somewhat low-key in my household. It's just my parents, sister and I, and we rarely spend Christmas day with our extended family. Yesterday morning we woke up, had coffee and Carolans, and spent a few hours opening gifts (we didn't have a plethora of gifts under the tree, but we're always sure to take our time). In the evening my sister and I made a really delicious vegetarian dinner. We had acorn squash, vegetarian stuffing, broccoli and cauliflower casserole, mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy.
As far as gift giving in our family, my sister always takes the cake. She makes wonderful homemade gifts that have so much time and thought put into them. This year she made a beautiful scrapbook-style calender for my parents, with photographs corresponding to each month, and she spent upwards of 50 hours on it!
My sister made this old-timey treasure chest for me, with a picture of us as children on the top. Inside of the chest were four other individually wrapped gifts, wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. This was definitely my favourite gift; it is just so sweet and wonderful. See what I mean about her being crafting queen?

Here a few other photos from my Christmas:

Holiday Make-up
I'm so super glad to be done exams and home for Christmas! I wrote my last exam yesterday morning and got home last night. It's wonderful to see my parents, plus my older sister is home from Vancouver!
Here's a Christmas inspired make-up look I have to share with you. I don't wear green eyeshadow a lot (because of my greeny/hazel eyes) but it's perfect for the season.

Products I used:

1. Light and dark greens from a Quo holiday palette
2. Splash green gold pigment
3. MAC pigment in Vanilla (I just have this sample)
4. CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion mascara
5. Wet N Wild Idol Eyes creme showder pencil in Pixie (worn as an eyeshadow base/primer)
6. MAC brow finisher in Cinnamon
7. Burt's Bees lip shimmer in Fig
Not pictured:
MAC Select Sheer pressed powder in NC15
MAC powder blush in Springsheen
Quo black liquid liner
