eShakti

There are more than few things from eShakti that that I have my eye on. I haven't bought anything from them, but I have heard good things from people in the Fatshionista LJ Community. I really want to buy my grad dress from eShakti. I likely won't be ordering until the end of January, as no point spending non-Christmas related money now. I would love to get two dresses, one for commencement and one for the banquet, and perhaps a few tops for spring. I'm also really interested in the custom orders, since I am really particular about sleeves. here are some of the things on their website I really love right now.

So, have any of you purchased from eShakti before? Anything you love on their website right now? Do tell!

Fabulousity

Guess what this blogger did today? Attended a preview day and applied to her university of choice! I hope this doesn't sound juvenile, but it was way easier than television makes it seem. I'm sure this is because I'm not wishing to attend anything prestigious but it's still a relief. Tomorrow I'll apply for residence and then all I can do is wait. Eeeeee!

Browsing the Old Navy website there a few things that stand out as potentially fabulous but I have to ask, what's up with the summer clothes in mid November?

What about cotton floral tunics and daydresses doesn't say summer? I do like these though. For the summer, I'd pair the tunic with skinny jeans and flat brown sandals, and the dress with sandals and a belt. Tunic and blue dress.

Yes, these are the same dress but both of the patterns are so lovely, and different enough that I want to own both. In the summer, I'd pair these flat sandals and a long necklace. For the colder part of the year, both of these would be cute with a cardigan, tights, and either flats or boots.

Speaking of cardigans...

V-neck cardi, swing cardigan, perfect cardigan.

Okay, how lovely would the chunky grey cardi look with the navy short sleeved dress? Coloured tights and flat black boots anyone? A long gold necklace?

Tights from We Love Colours in maroon. Necklace from ModCloth. Boots from Barefoot Tessa.

Enjoy! I only have so much more time before every penny needs be spent on my education, so maybe I'll swing by Old navy this weekend.

♥ Love always, and hello to my new readers/followers.

Old Navy

Old Navy isn't always seen as the most fashionable place, but since beginning to shop there a few years ago I'm loving it more and more. Old Navy does have some downsides, like their inconsistent sizing, their exclusively online plus sizes, the fact that they don't ship to Canada despite having a number of Canadian stores, and the fact that their blouses shrink length-wise when dried. That being said, I was still pleasantly surprised with some of the new items on their websites, from on-trend skirts to fabulous faux-leather purses. Here are some of my faves:

Can you tell what colours I'm loving right now?

Autumn Look

I've never shopped at Banana Republic, though I do shop at Old Navy and occasionally the Gap (I shopped their more often when I was a size 16). But since they all share the same website/shopping bag, I stumbled across this fabulous outfit.

The wool coat! The jeans! The nude heels! The clutch! This is a perfect autumn outfit, and now all I can wish is that they offered plus sizes. Sigh. That being said, this outfit can totally be rocked by a woman of any size, but finding the specific pieces may be tough.

Fantasy Shopping

I think I've entered the horrible gates of "It's winter! You're sick!" This is the second cold I've had this autumn and I feel awful! At least being at home covered in Vick's Vapour Rub gives me a chance to do some e-browsing, right?

Thanks to Christina at
Musings of a Fatshionista for the heads up on this fabulous Etsy designer, Babooshka Boutique. She offers sizes XS - L, but has this posted on her main page:

XL = special order. I love doing special orders. Please message me with your request and size and I will answer you with all of the details. All special orders & custom orders are non refundable but I will always do whatever alterations or changes within reason that I can do for a buyer.

I'm absolutely loving the oversized, dark jersey pieces, especially this dress in both black and grey.

How would I wear it? With these pull-on jeans from Torrid (if shipping to Canada wasn't so expensive), these ankle boots from Barefoot Tessa, a long necklace like this one from Mod Cloth or this one from Urban Outfitters, a wide bangle, and a big, patterned vintage scarf. It would a perfect easy, casual but still totally chic outfit.

I've never purchased anything from Etsy but OH is this dress getting me all excited.

Grad!

Yup, I'm graduating high school this year. Exciting, no? After being reminded of this fact yesterday I cannot seem to get grad dresses off my mind. I'm looking for something knee-length with sleeves, and under $250 (the lower, the better). After perusing the internet, it's clear that there is no lack of knee-length plus-size dresses with sleeves. I hope this isn't a bad sign.

After seeing this last dress, I felt like it may be the one. The colours lovely, it looks comfortable, seems to have a nice shape. And the floral stiching along the neckline and sleeves is so perfect! How would I wear it? With these shoes and this necklace:

While I'm (of course) not buying my grad dress this soon, I'm really loving this outfit. Honestly? As soon as I put together this ensemble I had a "must. buy. now." moment but it will have to wait. There are too many reasons not to buy my grad dress/outfit this soon, including the fact that I couldn't wait until May to wear it!

All pictures are links to their respective locations in this great vast world of the internet. :)

KEEP ON BROWSING!
