Black & White
Last night I went to the Annual AIDS Benefit at the local gay bar and I decided to dress up a bit. I had a really good time - it was my first drag show (!) and a handful of people I knew were there. I felt a bit nervous when I first arrived (new place, lots of people) but I found a few people I knew from school and we grabbed a table. We were right at the front and got teased a lot by hosting drag queen, and while I didn't like being identified as straight, it was a lot of fun. And I got a few compliments on my outfit!
Sticking to black and white makes mixing prints a bit easier and looks very chic, in my opinion. I have a lot of black and white in the clothes I'm remixing, so you'll probably see more of it.
Old Navy top, Ricki's skirt, Payless heeled boots, Reitmans necklace
Yesterday definitely got me out of my funk, and I'm feeling much happier today! I hope I can keep up this positivity. What do you do to cheer yourself up?

I love this look, you look gorgeous. I'm a sucker for black and white, well, I'm a sucker for anything that involves the color black.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good time, I love Drag shows, so much fierceness. What do I do to cheer myself up? See people that make me laugh, cuddle with my kitties, drink some tea, eat some baked goods, listen to a favorite song, watch a favorite movie, etc.
Yay for positivity.

Love this outfit! I'm always a bit scared to mix prints, but this looks great. I may have to try the idea of keeping mixing prints to b&w.
ReplyDeleteI have that top too and I would have never thought to pair it with another pattern like that. I really love this outfit!
