Owls/stripes
I've been thinking a lot about blogging in the past few days and while I'm not sure that I can articulate my thoughts, you should read what Natalie of Definatalie has to say. Natalie is all kinds of wonderful and her writing is quite thought-provoking. While I'm not totally sure where I fit in the blogging world and how I feel about success with regards to blogging, it's definitely something that's been on my mind.
On a different note, today was a friend's casual 18th birthday celebration and this is what I wore.
Jeans - Penningtons size 20
Owl top - Forever 21+ size 3X
Sweater - Ricki's size XXXL
Layering tank - Warehouse One size XL
Necklace - Forever 21
Boots - Walmart size 10W

Christmas
I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a wonderful holiday! For me, there's nothing better than spending time with my family, especially combined with sleeping in, heart-warming music, and sweets. Christmas is always somewhat low-key in my household. It's just my parents, sister and I, and we rarely spend Christmas day with our extended family. Yesterday morning we woke up, had coffee and Carolans, and spent a few hours opening gifts (we didn't have a plethora of gifts under the tree, but we're always sure to take our time). In the evening my sister and I made a really delicious vegetarian dinner. We had acorn squash, vegetarian stuffing, broccoli and cauliflower casserole, mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy.
As far as gift giving in our family, my sister always takes the cake. She makes wonderful homemade gifts that have so much time and thought put into them. This year she made a beautiful scrapbook-style calender for my parents, with photographs corresponding to each month, and she spent upwards of 50 hours on it!
My sister made this old-timey treasure chest for me, with a picture of us as children on the top. Inside of the chest were four other individually wrapped gifts, wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. This was definitely my favourite gift; it is just so sweet and wonderful. See what I mean about her being crafting queen?
Here a few other photos from my Christmas:

Holiday Make-up
I'm so super glad to be done exams and home for Christmas! I wrote my last exam yesterday morning and got home last night. It's wonderful to see my parents, plus my older sister is home from Vancouver!
Here's a Christmas inspired make-up look I have to share with you. I don't wear green eyeshadow a lot (because of my greeny/hazel eyes) but it's perfect for the season.
Products I used:
1. Light and dark greens from a Quo holiday palette
2. Splash green gold pigment
3. MAC pigment in Vanilla (I just have this sample)
4. CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion mascara
5. Wet N Wild Idol Eyes creme showder pencil in Pixie (worn as an eyeshadow base/primer)
6. MAC brow finisher in Cinnamon
7. Burt's Bees lip shimmer in Fig
Not pictured:
MAC Select Sheer pressed powder in NC15
MAC powder blush in Springsheen
Quo black liquid liner

Christmas Party
I'm hardly a fancy lady, but I do have some fancy friends. Last night my girlfriend and I went to a lovely Christmas dinner party. There was delicious food and wonderful company. I had a really great time!
Sweater - Zellers size XL
Sequin skirt - Faith 21 size 3X
Tights - Penningtons size 4X
Necklace - Penningtons
Rings - Payless
Heels - Payless size 11
Disclaimer: I didn't actually wear these heels, even though I love them. There was no point because of all the snow and ice on the ground, and you can't wear shoes in a Canadian home anyways. I totally would wear them with this outfit, under other circumstances.
Hm, do you wear shoes in yours or others' homes?

Monday
I don't have too much to say today, though it's been a nice day indeed. I had waffles for breakfast, had my final sociology class, and went for a lovely walk and coffee outing with two friends. Now, it's 6:30pm and I'm already ready for bed. I could stay up and do some studying, but if I get a really good night's sleep tomorrow's studying will be even more productive...
I felt I was wearing too much black so I put on my favourite t-shirt to add some colour. I love Ani Difranco and I love this tee!
Black bodycon skirt - Ricki's size 18
T-shirt - Righteous Babe webstore, American Apparel unisex size XL

Necklaces - free from the Re-use Centre
Button ring - handmade and gifted by my girlfriend
Turquoise ring - handmade, bought at a sale on campus
Amber ring - Dawson Creek Art Gallery, gift from my parents
Watch - gift from my parents

Stripes on stripes
Sorry for not posting regularly. School is stressful, and I can't believe there's less than a week of classes left! Here's what I wore on Thursday. When I'm getting dressed before 7am for my morning classes being warm and comfortable is a must!
Striped top - Addition-Elle size 3X
Sweater - Ricki's size XXL
Denim leggings - Old Navy size 18
Necklace - Spring Shoes
I'll be taking my outfit photos indoors from now on, due to the cold winter, so I need to work on that. I find it so much easier to get a good quality photograph outside, but I doubt you want to see my winter coat and boots over and over again. On the sort-of-same note, I really want to improve my blog. Is there anything you'd like to see more/less of? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Purple & Prints
Today was a beautiful, snowy-but-not-too-cold day, so I took a lot of photos. Sorry that my eyes are closed/I'm looking away in a lot of the pictures, but that low winter sun is bright!
Cardigan - Ricki's, size XXL
Dress - The Jean Queen, size 20
Leggings - Walmart, size 2X
Wide-calf boots - Naturalizer, size 11W
Circle scarf - campus bookstore
Rings - Payless
The snow has left everything crystallized, it is just gorgeous.
My door, as decorated for Christmas. I love decorating, and I think the glittery bow and glittery snowflakes are just too cute!
