New purchases
Hello all! I've been doing quite a bit of shopping in the past few days and decided to make a video (my first!) to show you my new purchases. Let me know what you think!
I'm really happy with what I bought and I can't wait to wear all of my new clothes! You'll definitely be seeing them in upcoming posts.

I'm thinking we should take a trip to the city
I made a quick trip home to Edmonton this past weekend and I'm sure glad I did. I was feeling quite homesick. My dad was driving my aunt to the airport Friday afternoon so it wasn't that far out of the way to pick me up in Camrose. That being said, it was hardly smooth sailing - our car broke down on the edge of the city and we ended up waiting outside in the freezing wind for over half an hour waiting for a tow truck! We were on a freeway with no emergency lights so we couldn't even stay in the car. We eventually got home safely though, the car should already be fixed by now. I spent Saturday afternoon with one of my good friends and had a lovely time. We met for lunch and then spent the afternoon on Whyte Ave, which is how we usually spend our time (I live & she works on Whyte - the hippest~ part of Edmonton). We had lunch at Tokyo Noodle Shop, did a bit of faux-shopping at the Tinbox and the Junque Cellar, had coffee and bought books at Chapters and finished off with cake from Death by Chocolate. (If you're in or around Edmonton, those would be a few of my favourite places on Whyte!)
This striped top is actually one of my favourites, even though I've only posted photos of it twice before. It's no secret that I love horizontal stripes, and grey and black is a gorgeous colour combination. I positively love the length and the way it drapes - I can wear it with leggings, jeggings, or jeans and it's perfect on early mornings when the idea of layering baffles me. I paired it with my trusty Old Navy jeggings and some new jewellery for a cute weekend look.

Faith 21
I was planning on posting a proper outfit post tonight, but that got postponed. Thankfully my Faith 21 order came today and I couldn't be more excited to show you what I bought. This was my first experience with Faith 21 and I'm very impressed. My order came within 5 business days. I ordered almost everything (except for the striped cardigan) in a 3X, which fits my 52-46-54 body perfectly.

Pretty Sequin Skirt and grey shrug (no longer on the website)
I love both of these pieces so much!

Owl Print Sateen Top and preppy striped cardigan (no longer on the website)
The owl top has absolutely no stretch, something I usually rely on with my clothes, but I had to give it a chance because of its cute print. Thankfully it fits me well. It had this weird unnessecary tie at the back, but I just cut the thread there and the tie came off without damaging the shirt. This striped cardigan is so cute. I ordered it in a 2X because there was no 3X available. I probably could of done with a a 3X but hey, its a cardigan and I'll only wear it unbuttoned.
I love both of these necklaces. The owl is so quirky cute, and the rainbow heart necklace is so gay pride.
I ordered two other items, one that I'm saving for my Halloween costume and one that I'll be returning.

I am not impressed with this sweater at all. It's not as slouchy as it appears on the model and it is itchy as can be. So itchy that I couldn't leave it on long enough to snap a picture. Thankfully Forever 21 sent me a sticker for free shipping for returns.
I should not that I'm in Canada and so I placed my order on canada.forever21.com

I love this top, but unfortunately it's no longer on the website. It is a bit low cut, but I figured it would be and it's nothing a tank can't solve. It has elastic at the waist and sleeves, but other than that the fabric has no stretch. It's super wrinkly right now, but hopefully that will improve after a wash.

Hello,
I know posting has been a bit light around here, and I'm sorry to say that it will likely continue to be light. In the past week my girlfriend returned from a six week trip in South Africa, and my best friend left on a 10 month exchange to Japan. Naturally, I've been focusing on spending as much time as possible with the people I love. I'm also moving into my dorm room in just under two weeks, so I'm furiously trying to pack as well as downsize the amount of stuff I have. This also means that a lot of my favourite clothes are in boxes, or will be soon. I'm a lovely combination of stressed, nervous, and excited and blogging, while certainly on my mind, hasn't exactly fit into my days. This afternoon I attempted to do my make-up for a (late) Make-Up Monday post and failed miserably.
I haven't even been able to keep up with my blog reading and commenting. I have over 200 unread posts on Bloglovin, and that's not even counting the many blogs I follow with Google.
This is, of course, not to complain but to apologize. I absolutely love blogging and will try my best to stay on top of it, but I might just not be able to.
On a completely different note, though, I went to Old Navy the other day to get a few basics for fall. I am in love! These t-shirt are so much better than Old Navy tees typically are, and these denim leggings are wonderful. Finally, a proper jegging (as opposed to those horrid MXM "denim look" leggings) available in store in Canada. They look like proper skinny jeans, zip fly and pockets included, but are very stretchy and super comfortable.

Shoes & Accessories
Today I went to the dentist for two more fillings (eek!) and had an eye exam. Thankfully, my optometrist's office is at the mall so I was able to do some shopping.
I wanted to get these Payless shoes last week, and was disappointed when I couldn't. Good thing I waited, as they went on sale over the weekend.

Plaid ruffle flats ($25), hounds tooth cap toe flats ($28), and basic black flats ($11)

I also bought two necklaces. After checking out a lot of stores, I chose to shop at Spring.

Floral heart necklace ($5)

Paris necklace ($10)
I also bought a comforter, sheets, and towels for my dorm room, as well as a new pair of glasses that I'll be picking up in a few days. Yay, shopping!

My two favourite things
...are thrifting and floral. Could you guess? :)
Today kind of alternated between fun and miserable. It would have been a lovely day but the heat and mosquitoes were horrendous, making me wish I hadn't even left the house. On the way home, I had to wait at the bus stop for over half an hour, there were so many mosquitoes that I had a panic attack. Even an hour after getting home I ended up crying just because I was still so overwhelmed. This might seem like a bit much of a response, but you must understand that there were a lot of mosquitoes, much more than my city usually sees, I'm the type of person who is incredibly attractive to mosquitoes, and I have anxiety.
However, in between screaming, hyperventilating, scratching, and swatting, Keegan taught me how to knit and we went to Value Village. Thrifting is much less stressful wen you're not looking specifically for clothes.
My outfit:

Lapis acid wash t-shirt - American Apparel unisex size L
Skirt - thrifted
Belt - thrifted
Vintage turquoise necklace - gift
Sunglasses - Forever 21
A few of my purchases:

This is the first time I've thrifted tights. I haven't tried them on yet but hopefully they fit.

Also only for $1, the cashier was impressed at my find.

My favourite purchase, these cute floral glasses. Set of 6 for $5. They're oh so pretty.

New Purchases
After spending three hours this afternoon working on pottery - and ogling people who were cosplaying - I did a bit of shopping as planned. Here's what I got:

1. Payless, size 11. These shoes are so cute and comfortable, and perfect for spring.
2. Same as a above! I'll be wearing these with my grad dress.
3. I've been wanting these Old Navy jeans since I first saw them on the website. I chose the darkest wash because - and I admit this may be a bit of left-over fat-girl insecurity - I wasn't totally comfortable wearing baby blue or pale grey jeans. I love these jeans! They fit perfectly and fit quite close to the body. The skinny leg is actually quite skinny. Hurrah! I bought a size 18, which is what I always wear in Old Navy pants. The length is longer than mid-calf, but slightly short than 'flood pants.' The bottom of the pants to my ankle is about 4".
4. Really lovely cardigan from Old navy, size XXL. It's quite lightweight and soft, and the colour is beautiful.
5. Also from Old Navy, and also size XXL. This cardigan is really cute and feminine in my opinion. It's a bit more vibrant in real life. I'll be wearing this with my grad dress.
Old Navy had 30% everything instore, and Payless had a By One Get One 1/2 off sale. Oh sales, how I love thee.
I'm not sure why, but I'm really nervous that my readers will diss what I'm wearing to grad. I'm going for a semi-formal, cute, quirky, feminine, vintage-inspired thing. Anything else just wouldn't be me, but I'm still fearful of criticism. It's probably just because of how much pressure is put on one dinner and dance. I'll look fabulous, so there's nothing to worry about.

Saturday Afternoon Shopping
One thing I've always loved about early Saturday afteroons is having coffee and running errands with my dad. This is even better if the line between "running errands" and "going shopping" gets blurred. Today we stopped by Value Village.
I haven't had a jewellery box since I was a very young girl, and I've been yearning after one the past few years. I am so happy to have found this one. It is in almost perfect condition, and was only $20. And there is a lot of room for a lot of jewellery.

I also found a film camera. Yippee! It seems to be in good condition, and was only $8. Film will be no problem to find (35mm) but I can't tell what kind of battery it needs (short, squat, and lithium?). One this all gets sorted, I can't wait to try it out.

My favourite fatty fat coffee beverage. A Chillate with a shot of chocolate and whipped cream, from Second Cup. Yum.

ETA: I found the camera's manual online.
